MEMA reminds residents of the Commonwealth of the importance of being prepared for tropical storms and hurricanes. Tropical Storm Irene in 2011, Hurricane Sandy in 2012, and Hurricane Arthur in 2014 are powerful reminders that Massachusetts residents and visitors must prepare for the next hurricane or tropical storm. Indeed, the Commonwealth has been hit hard in recent decades by hurricanes and tropical storms.
